So refreshing seeing your posts here. Thanks for sharing.

Oh that sounds nice, never heard of this before.

Haha, tbh the main reason i don't want to have the crazy pigeon balcony is because of the mess, the mess is already sufficient for me as is. And her anti pigeon measures don't help a lot, they are not bothered much by those windmills and fake crows. They are still lurking around her balcony for a place to nest.

But yeah that woman does not like birds, also the parakeets, all the birds really. She dropped letters in the neighborhood last year, asking for people to stop feeding birds.

Thank you! I will keep posting some pigeon stuff when i'm on the road, just not as regular. I also hope to get to see some of the ferals' wild ancestors on this holiday, but i will probably not have the right photo equipment on me.

Sure, i know. But it doesn't need to sleep here to get the food in the morning, and it had nights / mornings where it didn't. But i would also prefer for it to find food elsewhere. I just saw it struggling for survival and felt for it. I hope it finds its way when i'm gone, and that that way has nothing to do with my balcony.

I am giving treats to two amazing couples, which is what i would like to keep doing, i can't have the balcony become a crazy pigeon balcony, my neighbours hate pigeons. They have decorated theirs with spikes, fake crows and these plastic windmills ๐Ÿคฃ There is a crazy pigeon balcony on the other side of the yard, but i'm not sure if they feed outside of winter, can't look over there when the trees are green. They actually have the whole pigeon crew from the yard there, multiple sleeping guests.

So this is now the 4th spot on the balcony it has chosen to sleep. I just woke it up when i put tomorrow's raisins on the blackbird's plate and took the photo. I saw it before from the inside, it looked like the whole brain was asleep, haha. It has been sleeping here most of the nights since it showed up. One night we scared each other when i went out and it went flying, but returned. I wish it would find a better place to sleep.

I have been giving it some food every day, very early in the morning (it wakes me up, cooing at 5:15). So it has a bit of power for the day to search for more. I did not give it food at any other times and it does not hang out on the balcony. That's good.

It runs into quite a bit of trouble with other pigeons, but it is pretty strong and stubborn, not loosing all of the fights. There is also some bully pigeon who i somehow follows it around a bit, also to the balcony, bugging it at its original sleeping spot. Really weird, no pigeon ever hung out there before.

I'll now be on holidays for a bit and i hope it will look for something else.

Two of my favorite moves.

Really, really cool. Those remind me a bit of when we were putting colors and other stuff into dia frames and then projecting.

Very nice photos and such cool looking birds.

I have this tiny water pistol that i used to scare away an overtly aggressive pigeon that i did not want to hang around the balcony. I felt somewhat bad about it, but then again it's just water, nobody gets harmed. It worked really well, nowadays when it shows up i just have to point the pistol at it and it leaves. I'm pretty sure that it knows i am only "dangerous" from a distance if i have the pistol in my hand.

I tried it on the cat from the balcony, but it's too weak from that distance to make an impression. Might invest in a super soaker if they start hanging around there too much.

Maybe with some kind of water gun ๐Ÿ˜…

My neighbor's cats were also stalking around the feeder in our garden, but luckily they seem to only be out occasionally.

Weekend chill (mander.xyz)

Hello bird friends. I have created a pigeon community to not post too much pigeon stuff here, as i don't think it fits all that well, but on some occasions i feel like it'd be fine to post. Like this one i took yesterday of this sweet couple. If you like pigeons, you are very welcome to [email protected] .

I wonder what asshole downvoted this. Let's have a look.

Oh, it was the fucking mod @[email protected] lol. You're doing a formidable job making this community a friendlier alternative to the evil, toxic [email protected] one! ๐Ÿ‘
