Oh that sounds nice, never heard of this before.
Haha, tbh the main reason i don't want to have the crazy pigeon balcony is because of the mess, the mess is already sufficient for me as is. And her anti pigeon measures don't help a lot, they are not bothered much by those windmills and fake crows. They are still lurking around her balcony for a place to nest.
But yeah that woman does not like birds, also the parakeets, all the birds really. She dropped letters in the neighborhood last year, asking for people to stop feeding birds.
Thank you! I will keep posting some pigeon stuff when i'm on the road, just not as regular. I also hope to get to see some of the ferals' wild ancestors on this holiday, but i will probably not have the right photo equipment on me.
Sure, i know. But it doesn't need to sleep here to get the food in the morning, and it had nights / mornings where it didn't. But i would also prefer for it to find food elsewhere. I just saw it struggling for survival and felt for it. I hope it finds its way when i'm gone, and that that way has nothing to do with my balcony.
I am giving treats to two amazing couples, which is what i would like to keep doing, i can't have the balcony become a crazy pigeon balcony, my neighbours hate pigeons. They have decorated theirs with spikes, fake crows and these plastic windmills ๐คฃ There is a crazy pigeon balcony on the other side of the yard, but i'm not sure if they feed outside of winter, can't look over there when the trees are green. They actually have the whole pigeon crew from the yard there, multiple sleeping guests.
Really, really cool. Those remind me a bit of when we were putting colors and other stuff into dia frames and then projecting.
Very nice photos and such cool looking birds.
The rare feral pigeon in a tree ๐
I have this tiny water pistol that i used to scare away an overtly aggressive pigeon that i did not want to hang around the balcony. I felt somewhat bad about it, but then again it's just water, nobody gets harmed. It worked really well, nowadays when it shows up i just have to point the pistol at it and it leaves. I'm pretty sure that it knows i am only "dangerous" from a distance if i have the pistol in my hand.
I tried it on the cat from the balcony, but it's too weak from that distance to make an impression. Might invest in a super soaker if they start hanging around there too much.
Maybe with some kind of water gun ๐
My neighbor's cats were also stalking around the feeder in our garden, but luckily they seem to only be out occasionally.
I wonder what asshole downvoted this. Let's have a look.
Oh, it was the fucking mod @[email protected] lol. You're doing a formidable job making this community a friendlier alternative to the evil, toxic [email protected] one! ๐
Nice topic!
..on a little trip last week in the Vosges, France.
