That's insane to think about. I usually buy a 20 lb bag of Thai Jasmine rice for a little over $20 her in the US. I think I would seriously break down and cry if I had to pay almost $70.
Definitely a 9 today. It's my first week of return to office and I need to make a good impression so naturally I woke up this morning at 4am with the shits. I called out but I'm sure I'll be getting an earful tomorrow.
Okay I'm choosing violence on this one so downvote away if you must. This is not an American thing, it's a patriarchy thing. We are conditioned and constantly reinforced with the idea that sex is about subjugation and not intimacy in our language and culture. All my life I've heard phrases like "suck my dick/balls" used as an insult across all genders and then when I am expected to perform such acts in the context of a loving relationship my brain outright refuses to associate that with an act of love and my partner acts all surprise Pikachu about it. The patriarchy and our common language insists that sex is bad at the detriment and isolation of everyone. Men in particular are isolated and conditioned to never give/receive love or even recognize their emotions with the only consolation being that they are given permission to subjugate women. And so the culture persists through our own unwitting actions as people are impeded from ever fully connecting with each other in perfect love and perfect trust. It's shit like this that keeps the patriarchy in control and us under control.
I have been using Brave for the last year and I did like it as a mobile browser. But today I noticed that when I was searching about abortion and etopic pregnancy (fact checking a really dumb article) that all of a sudden their AI crap was throwing "no results available" errors. I checked some other left leaning topics and sure enough it no longer gives you AI results. So I immediately uninstalled that shit from my phone because fuck them.
This is fucking barbaric. The hospital let her sit for 40 hours with a fetus hanging out of her uterus. Just take a moment to imagine what that alone must have felt like aside from the emotional horror of losing a pregnancy. We wouldn't even imagine treating pets or livestock this way but it's clear that these repugnant forced-birthers don't consider women to be people. One little pill to speed up the labor that her body already decided was needed was all that was required to keep this woman alive. What's the point of even having healthcare when we can't rely on it.
WTF!? How is the state health board not jumping into a complete investigation of this hospital at this point and/or shutting this place down? I have so many questions. The first of many is how did they "store" this body so that it decomposed to the point of being unrecognizable? This whole thing reads like they let her die from malpractice and then threw the body in a closet to hide the evidence.
I opened this post thinking the woman in question was some high level C suite worker. Nope she was supposedly working in fast food. This is beyond dystopian. You mean to tell me this fucker walked in a fast food place saw a toddler and an infant behind the counter, recognized that the mom must have just given birth and thought "Yup this is inspiring." I'm honestly speechless. This might be one of the few instances I've ever seen where everyone responding is on the same page with their reaction and rage.
There's a good reason anesthesiologists get paid as much as they do. There is no way paramedics get enough training to be granted the ability to use sedation like this. And any tool given to police becomes a weapon. This whole policy is a recipe for disaster.
I really don't understand why streaming business are so surprised. They are providing television for rent and users are renting it plain and simple. They seem to think they are entitled to lengthy subscriptions from users when in reality they aren't providing a service that's even stable or worth it.
I mean the most obvious malicious compliance here would be to make a bus line that runs to the tiny little parking lot at the entrance. Nothing the wealthy hate more than public transportation in their backyard.
I had a very stodgy surgeon and I actually got a laugh out of him. He checked in with me pre surgery and as he was leaving said he would see me in the OR and I was like I hope I don't see you (meaning I hoped the anesthesia worked). No one else got what I meant except for him and he had a genuine chuckle.

I would much rather take a video call with screen sharing any day than try to figure out what the hell someone is talking about over email. Most problems are user error and it's so much faster to see them doing it in real time.
