Hi iMadeThis Lemmy!

I was recommended to post here with my micro-art collectable botanical trading cards. I spent a long time making these. They are for each province and territory of Canada. Kind of a hobby that got out of 'hand'. I did everything by hand, locally and offline, so every individual card has some variations to them.

I’m really curious if others would ever want something like this? I'd be happy to figure out if it’s just me who likes them or?

I added a link for a self made waitlist (recommended to make one by a friend for the idea), just to see if anyone anywhere might be interested in my crafts. Not sure if my link worked, it's my first time trying to post after reading on lemmy for some time.

Thanks

For reference, the Skill Graph is an open-source self-navigable graph of all human knowledge

A sneak peek into the Skill Graph we are building for The Brotherhood. This interconnected graph and its nodes represent modular concepts and how one can learn one after another. Our next goal is to not only provide a roadmap, link free resources, make the process itself open source but also then use this to verify one's skills rather than a black box degree/certificate. But most importantly, one day this will encompass all of human knowledge and ability 🔥

We are currently massively scaling up. There is need of curation of these wonderful graphs and connect them with each other to build the ultimate Skill Graph. If you are interested in working with us, please contact us personally. If you want to have more information, please check out our website or ask in the comments

As someone who doesn't do stuff like this very often, I think it turned out very well! Check out the browser if you want to, it's very good. I like the minimal, no toolbar mode. Works quite well with hyprland. https://natsumi.greeeen.dev/ https://github.com/greeeen-dev/natsumi-browser

An ongoing project written in Go, from scratch for remote server access. The connect and session protocol was implemented without any effort to be compatible with ssh.

EDIT: I had forgotten to enable anonymous repo browsing before posting a few days ago (AI bots spamming my server), now re-enabled.

I just finished a project called "Treatise of Unprofitableness" that's been eating my brain for almost 8 months. It's supposed to be something like a fusion of electronic music and literature. I wanted to make something that isn't an audiobook or a soundtrack, but something where both parts are equally important, yet separable.

I remember reading somewhere that Aphex Twin said electronic music is naturally abstract. And it is. I think that's part of what makes it cool. But I'm not entirely sure it always has to be. For example, when I listen to electronic music, I often unconsciously fill it with my own non-abstract memories and feelings. And I started wondering what the opposite, not abstract direction could sound like.

And I thought that classical academic music couldn't have developed withput opera, ballet, theater. Like the extra context gave people a way in. And a lot of us already explore electronic music through games, movies, memes. So, why not through literature? Since I always loved to write something. About the novel part: the title kinda explains the main topic. Set during the 17th century theatre ban in London by puritans. It follows and actor, whose entire profession has been declared illegal and useless, and he starts asking himself what is useful and what is not. As for the music, I initially wanted to make something like TikTok's Dark Fantasy with a bit of "progression", like Dorian Concept, but something that's evolving & with sections changing and etc. So, I was making two demos almost every day, even at work. But you never know what you'll end up with, and I wouldn't call it dark fantasy now haha. I also feel like it sounds too much like "90s light IDM" style. I'd like to do something more complex next time.

Maybe it all sounds weird, but I hope if you give it some time, you might have an interesting experience. At least my friends said so, but yk it's friends. if you check this out - cool. If not - also cool. Just wanted to share. And maybe to know if this makes sense to anyone. Anyway, here's the thing i made: https://flenyo.com/treatise_on_unprofitableness.html

The game I've been working on sets up characters at run time using settings stored in a file. The characters can get relatively complex and can have multiple heads and several limbs. And to help me with setting up these characters and previewing changes without running the actual game, I made this tool.

I attended a masquerade themed event last night and I thought it would be good fun to break my crafting dry spell and make my mask myself out of leather. Was a fun a simple little project and I think it came out quite nicely.

I like to make my scripts more unique, so I don’t have to constantly be searching through a slew of identical ugly orange plastic cylinders. I use colored glass ~~hats~~ jars, and I make custom labels. (I also label other stuff, but these are fun to get creative with).

I've been using sushi rollers to transport my brushes since art school, finally decided to make my own brush-roll-up.

Wet felting is the process of using soap, hot water and mechanical agitation to coax wool fibres to knit together. I dyed some burlap and cheesecloth to work into the fibres as well, 'cause I love texture.

Here's a pic of the inside — all criticism for brush care can go to my twelve year old niece.

Some friends and I decided we wanted to start getting to know the cosmic horror genre but were really put off by the hateful whining of Lovecraft. Since we're all people he probably would've hated on, we made a book club to explore the works of minority cosmic horror writers. (We're open to suggestions if anybody has favorites they want to share!)

I made and sent out these bookmarks to each of our members to celebrate.
