Elon should not be welcome in the EU. He should be seen as antithetical to what the EU should be striving for and it's common values.

Anyone who says this should be removed from politics because they're clearly willing to make a deal with the devil if it means a quick influx of cash.

The technical alpha slapped and I'm fuckin dying to get back in. I was really hoping for them to open up a beta but now I'm just sad I have to wait till October to play this.

I understand the delay to get things right, but there's almost half a year where no game is satisfying this itch which is a shame. Marathon hasn't been delayed yet and I know Hell Let Loose guys are making an extraction shooter that looks sick as hell that's due to release this year as well.

All I'm saying is I would have paid €40 for that alpha it was so good, October will be a slam dunk, but the genre will be more crowded by that time.

Lol. For context, it took me maybe two weeks to get back up to full speed on a new typing layout. When I moved to Germany they moved some keys around on standard qwerty and it took me a couple of days.

If you're already touch typing I think most changes are easy to adapt to and don't overwrite previous muscle memory. Your brain is powerful, believe it is and it will work.

I moved to Germany and had to sell my 3d printer for the move, but when I pick up a new one finalizing a custom dactyl keyboard will be one of my first projects. I use an ergodox ez right now (they're amazing do check them out if you want a pre built solution), but I want as many thumb keys as I can possibly handle so I want to upgrade to a custom solution.

This is really cool to see, thanks for sharing!

As someone who runs an ergodox ez with a custom key layout and who goes in to work from time to time using normal QWERTY keyboards (both English and German configuration), you do not lose anything. It's incredibly easy to switch between every config you have.

I also think most people would appreciate a split keyboard setup because it's so much better for posture and health and comfortability. Would highly recommend.

Ay, moved over to Arch 3 months ago! It's been fantastic and nearly every game has worked out of the box, protondb solved most other issues.

Privacy focused company praising a political party jailing opposition and citizens without due process, ignoring the rule of law, and generally grabbing power to maintain complete control.

Speaking as someone who currently has a proton account, I was super disappointed. Thought I was leaving Google for the Rebellion, then I found out Proton was happy the Death Star's construction was underway and doesn't understand why the dissolution of the Galactic Senate is a bad thing. I'll be leaving when my subscription expires.

I left the US for Germany almost 2 years ago now. I'm a software/aerospace engineer. It was like time traveling to the future in some ways, worker right are way better here and 6 weeks of vacation has cemented that I'll never go back.

Now I just need to do my part to make sure conservatives don't ruin this country any more than they already have. Not excited for Merz to get into power and continue selling out his country.

Who the fuck reads the entire steam page? My friend says buy the game, the reviews say it's great with friends, you go and buy the game not scan the steam page for predatory data hoarding policies.

I agree with you here. This meme says "address" climate change like "EVs aren't a perfect solution to climate change" as if that's some big gotcha. They're a meaningful, incremental improvement away from ICE vehicles.

Public transit and bikes are better, but electrifying everything is also a good thing.

At Gencon it's very obvious where people are playing games after the convention and obvious where to go to meet more people.

I'm here at Essen Spiel for the first time and I have no idea where those kind of pick up hotel games would be taking place.

Does anyone have any advice? Is there an app or website I'm not aware of? Is going to random, nearby hotel lobbies my best bet?

I moved to Germany from the US this year. There is subsidized public transit, universal healthcare, minimum vacation time, a heavy union culture, strong renter-favored laws (although capitalist for profit housing is still an ever growing plague).

As others pointed out, the terminology isn't a great tool for debate without an agree upon definition. But yes, I would move to a country that cared about people over profits.

House flippers are incentivized not to make good, long term, sustainable, or efficient home improvements. Their only incentive is to make a house more sellable upon initial inspection, house flipping is a bad practice I would argue far more often than not.

The problem is housing as an investment like a stock. They should be commodities.
