I deleted Windows (lemmy.world)

So after migrating to Linux recently, I first ran it all in dual boot.

But I have taken the plunge and now my system is 100% Linux Mint, no more Windows for me.

Honestly, this is a really good experience and I am happy to have made the switch <3 🐧

This AR obsession is utterly baffling to me. There are so few real applications and the hardware requirements are insane so it's not something that will get widely adapted anyway. Sure in a decade or so it might have matured enough to have shed all these issues, but AR/VR feels like a really out of touch thing to prusue, especially if you look at the garbage ideas they have on how to use it - virtual meetings??

I get movies and games on these, possibly even some recording and porn, but these are not their B2B wet dreams anyway.

But following the announcement, he received a text from "a very good friend who is the mother of a trans child," linking him to a Book Riot op-ed entitled, An Open Letter to John Lithgow: Please Walk Away from Harry Potter.

As for whether the criticism has soured the role for him, Lithgow replied, “Oh, heavens no.”

Oh fuck off. Shame, I really liked 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Result from our last art stream as per user request. Turned out far better than I figured it would and thought it's worth sharing :>

We had a community challenge on Twitch in January for me to initiate my migration off Windows 10 to Linux.

The process began in February and I've been on Linux as my daily driver for a few weeks now. This video is an overview of that experience, my background and where things currently stand.

I'm very pleased with Linux Mint overall, despite some initial headaches and misgivings. Figured you might be interested in seeing this :)

Link got lost in crossposting, my apologies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoYW6HEVBCI

Wouldn't have thought they could do it, but very happy they did. Let's see how long it lasts.

I truly believe the world would be a much better place if there was a clear cutoff for wealth. But of course, there would still be weasles out there circumventing such measures. Greed is such an incredibly harmful thing.

Not a single redeeming thing about billionaires. Not a single one. Their "philanthropy" would be entirely unneeded, if they simply paid their fair share back to society, without which they wouldn't have what they have in the first place.

I am a sucker for the Anno Series and damn if I am not going to enjoy the heck out of the Roman setting. It'll certainly be an interesting ride.

The US and the USSR engaged in a race to have the most nukes. After the fall of the Sowjet Union international treaties were put in place to reduce the number of nukes in both east and west.

Don't quote me, but if I remember correctly, at the height of the cold war, both sides had more than 12.000 nukes each.

Humanity had enough fire power to delete the entire globe roughly 40x over then. Why? Because bigger is better.

Ah yes, the rapist doesn't want others to have power over him. Who would have guessed. Fuck him and fuck the panel that decided he could ever join.

Clearly me. I am a tiny little youtuber and streamer who wants this place to succeed, so I lurk, I post and don't have a presence on the big platforms.

So if I ever make it big, I can help drive users here. You just wait! It'll happen any day now!

Always ask for a receipt. Let the capitalists sweat a little over the chance of you returning your purchase.

Don't worry. Some people I know can still go skiing, so clearly it's all fake and a non-issue.

GDPR has plenty provisions where other laws or considerations may be more relevant than it, negating it in such cases.

I still do think the GDPR is extremely important, but it is no silver bullet, sadly.

That's amazing - Would it be fine if I covered this on my (very, very small) YouTube channel? My content isn't really related to anything fitness, but I am in the process of getting a bit fitter at the moment, so this could be a very fun thing to do and talk about for me, as I do have a weak spot for both RPGs and privacy respecting apps!
