News about Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach's movie Iron Lung say that it will be "self-released". Does anyone know more about this? Will it be possible to download it from somewhere, or maybe is it available already now?

Thank you for your shared info!

I know — I’m late to this party but if you have the traditional Star Wars background and you suddenly gain full access to Andor… just do it! It’s likely in the top ten of all televisions series by itself, but when you top it off with Rogue One… it’s sublime. True art in its finest manifestation! The pairing is simply breathtaking.

I saw Rogue One in the theaters and clocked it as the finest of all the Star Wars movies — and to rewatch it after Andor and ten years… just one of the finest media viewing experiences of my life.

And Rogue One experts: is the director of Rogue One directly referencing Blue Velvet’s Frank when Sol Guerrero hits his gas?? How did I not notice this the first time. It’s amazing — and like Frank, the gas makes him crazy. It’s too close not to be intentional. Anyway… forgive me — I’m having a media high. Just want to share that! Go… do this… and may the force be with you.

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-43VeYGiPM

Warner Bros.’ bizarre 2023 decision to shelve its live-action/animated film, Coyote vs. Acme, sparked outrage both in the industry and among fans online. But the film is finally being released, and Ketchup Entertainment, its new distributor, recently released the trailer. All I can say after watching that trailer is, what the heck was Warner Bros. even thinking? Granted, a killer trailer doesn’t automatically mean it’s a great film, but all the winning elements are here.

Japanese overacting slapstick Poirot (agathachristie.fandom.com)

Hi all, first post here!

Just wanted to share this lesser known movie I found. It's a fun watch for Poirot fans, but otherwise, this is not really a recommendation. This is not a masterpiece by any means. Just a weird twist of the Agatha Christie story.

I had trouble sourcing it, but found a mediocre quality copy on Dailymotion. I think it could be legitimate since it has some short weird ad breaks with spoilers running in the background. But as I'm not sure if it's legit I'll skip linking to it.

Male incels have been plentifully depicted on screen, while few film-makers have explored the varied controversies of toxic female radicalisation and the ‘womanosphere’. But a handful of movies have been treading a brave path

The lost bus (lemmy.zip)
submitted 6 days ago by stumu415@lemmy.zip to c/movies@lemmy.world

We had to stop watching the lost bus. The shaking camera shit is enough to give uit epilepsie, even if you don't have it. The movie must have been shot by Michael J Fox. Too bad because the story line sounded quite good but after 20 minutes being seasick like on a trawler at Cape Horn, it was enough. Can we just go back to shooting with a normal camera, not a fucking iPhone? Or at least a phone with stability sensors? I'm over this shaking shit.

My one is Terminator the original. I get that the machines they can create a machine, i'll even given them for creating human blood but one thing that bothered the shit out of me. Is they can probably read and write different languages but how in the hell or why do you make a robot have a german accent?

Let's be honest, not every movie "needs" to be in 4k, but some really gain from that additional resolution - and that's ignoring seating position and screen size. What are your favourite movies that you'd recommend in 4K over the same movie in 1080p?

For example, I always prefer Christopher Nolan movies, anything shot in 70mm/IMAX film and anything animated, set in space/fantasy worlds or BBC Nature documentaries to be 4K (and HDR preferably).

A replica of the Orca, the iconic shark-hunting boat from Jaws, is opening in north Wales, with the boatmaker saying tourists could travel from as far afield as America and Japan.

The vessel, which is the only full-scale replica in the world, took two years to build and will be filled with replica props from Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic film.
