Can someone explain to me in layman's terms why this is the most efficient way?
Europe is facing population decline. Houses should get cheaper, not more expensive, and the fact that prices keep rising means that they are artificially inflated.
Not an American, but yikes does this have "Vote with us... Or else!" vibes.
That's not to say I support Trump, but I personally don't think this is the way to convince fence-sitters at all.
He'd still have a lot of property to his name, a lot of other assets and stuff that aren't tied to an arbitrary stock market. Even if you crash it, mansions and luxury cars would still be very valuable. He will never not be a billionaire due to that.
That is, unless you redistribute his wealth. Then yeah, he wouldn't be filthy rich anymore.
Afaik it used to be the Saharan Jungle when the world was a few degrees warmer
It's Life by You for those that don't want to access the link.
Such a shame, I was excited for the game.
I don't agree. The simple fact that Lemmy is decentralised is a political thing. It's about who has power over the platform, and that is inherently a political issue. The status-quo of other platforms, that being under the control of a corporation, is also a political stance.
PS: everything is politics, that's not a good or bad thing, it's neutral. If you don't think of something as political, that just means it's oriented towards the status-quo you are used to.
If we didn't all work to produce excess wealth for the super wealthy, we'd have 20 hour workweeks. People can do a lot with that extra time.
It is obvious that men, with they physically stronger bodies and larger frames, are better than women at chess. It would be unfair to them to compete with eachother, since the male brain is the bigger muscle. /s
In all seriousness, I see absolutely no point in gender divisions in chess of all things.
I doubt people who would use Meta's instance are the sort of interesting people I'm on Lemmy for.
I'm not sure why this article frames this outcome as the fault of Gen Z. It's not their fault their parents gave them iPads instead of spending time with them, nor for the chronically underfunded educational system.
