I think you nailed it. I've read the manga and it seems to be like that. Things go slow, then a push happens.

I enjoy it the most when Amane interacts with people other than Mahiru. He is so reserved around her at times, it's like he's dead.

IIRC, there should be more pushing later in S2. So, keep on trucking, friendo.

I've been watching Angel Next Door and Isekai Non Biri S2 and have been picking at some of the new ones. Nothing has really got my attention this year but other respondents mentioned some that I haven't heard of, so I'll try those.

I couldn't get through the first episode of Always a Catch. It looked like something I'd enjoy but it just felt flat. Same with Miss Maid Simply Loves to Eat.

The others I've watched and will stick with for now are Kusunoki's Garden of the Gods and The Klutzy Class Monitor and The Girl with the Short Skirt.

Neither of them are amazing but they're both really enjoyable, in very different ways.

There are some stakes in Garden, but the MC isn't aware of them yet. It's been fun to watch to learn more about Japanese spirituality and religion. It's very cozy.

Klutzy Class Monitor has no real stakes. It is bonkers and I'm loving it. The female MC is basically the only "reasonable" person while most of the other characters are fun caricatures of high school anime tropes. It is fun to watch and to enjoy the weird ride that happens each episode.

The Angel Next Door does pick up pace but, imo, S2 is starting off like S1. Slow. I find myself getting easily distracted while watching it.

It doesn't scratch the romance itch like My Dress-Up Darling or Horimiya, which needed like 10 seasons.

I saw that Witch Hat Atelier was getting an anime so I started reading the manga and it did not click for me. I got through about 20 chapters and it just did not keep my attention.

I'll probably check out your other recommendations. I need some comfort watches and some CGDCT. My life is kind of a dumpster fire, so I need uplifting.

Niagara is good as well.

Sounds very lewd. No thank you. /s

It makes sense. I appreciate your thorough response.

I'll have to go through my collection and find some good ones to test the waters.

Meta question: See Post (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

After reading the rules, it appears that posting memes or such that relate to Godzilla and the Monsterverse is okay? What if they contain NSFW language? Are they okay to post with the NSFW tag?

I have so many memes saved and some of them are Monsterverse themed. I just want clarification so I don't disrupt the community.

That's right, kids: try it at work!

UPDATE: It's a physical/hardware issue. I did some more plugging and unplugging and tried the live disk. It's my wireless keyboard and mouse. I'm still not sure what the cause is since they were running fine.

At some point in October or early November, my Cinnamon desktop started acting up.

Whenever I press the "Ctrl" key on the laptop keyboard or the Bluetooth one, it starts zooming in, if the program has that capacity. For example, it does it in LibreOffice and Firefox but not Terminal or Nicotine+.

I checked the keyboard shortcuts and bindings but I didn't see any issues there.

At the same time, the mouse/trackpad is misbehaving. This is much more frustrating because it's inconsistent and challenging to recreate.

The easiest example to use is Nicotine+. When I click on a tab, it scrolls through the previous tabs until it gets to the main one.

It won't happen in other programs with tabbed screens, but I'll get a similar behavior in some drop-down boxes or using autofill - the list won't remain open. I'll click to open and it opens for a split second.

I don't have a ton of additional programs and I don't get into the nuts and bolts - I only run the recommended updates. I don't know of anything that changed.

I have a Debian USB ready to go in case I can't get anywhere with this. I'm also posting this in a couple of Mint forums.

My print bed is having heating issues. The "internal" bed is only heating up to 57-58C while the "external" is heating up to any temperature I set it to.

All the wiring I can see is intact and snug. The printer hasn't been dropped or anything like that.

I did a factory reset and the issue was still present. I updated all the firmware and still had the issue.

I'm pretty sure something is wrong on the inside but this is my first printer and I have no idea what I'd be looking at/for once I start taking it apart.

Any advice, links to tutorials, et cetera, will be appreciated.

My PS5 is a little over two years old and I've maintained it well but over the past couple of months it has started overheating.

I've cleaned it out thoroughly and it's shutting off after less than 10 minutes of playing. I don't always get the error message either.

When I start it up some time later (days later), I'll get a split screen that shows the right half of the screen twice. Once it repairs the console and USB external storage and reboots, the screen is fine.

Nothing around the PS5 has changed. If anything, I've given it more space and airflow. The fan seems to be working fine as well.

I messed up (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I renamed one of my partitions and now Mint won't boot up. I go into recovery mode, run a file check and get the following:

Any help would be appreciated.

I need to send a sensitive email anonymously to a VP at work. I was given information I should not have but it's important to get it to this person. I don't have much trust in local management to address the situation. I also need to protect myself because I won't be ready to leave this job for a few more months.

Any recommendations? It can be a simple one and done or one that's good for a limited time/number of emails.

TIA!

EDIT: I appreciate the recommendations! I will start checking them shortly. I'm hoping we can fix the situation locally but knowing that you recommended these helps me feel better about going this route if it becomes necessary.

EDIT: Thank you for all the comments and suggestions! I'm sorry I can't reply to everything but I have a list now of hardware to look at. I appreciate that everyone has been so helpful! I'll post an update once I buy one and get it going.

I've been running a Plex server for music off my gaming laptop for a few months and (I think) I'm ready to take it further - that is, I'd like to have the server running on its own hardware.

At this point, I'd just be running a music server, but I know I'll want to add more services.

The first would be something like Google Drive - I'm working with a couple of other people on business plans and I'd love to self-host our files and the software (like LibreOffice) to edit them.

I'm comfortable with the software side and I'm finding lots of options, especially in this community.

The hardware side... I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by all the options and I don't know enough to judge the search results.

Any recommendations for hardware or links to guides would be appreciated.

I really struggle to make friends and being an adult trying to make friends is even worse than when I was a kid in school.

It appeared that I had made a friend but they turned out to be kinda toxic. I made mistakes too but I never tried to hurt them or manipulate them. They've made me feel like they're embarrassed to know me. Like our friendship had to be a secret.

Now, I finally managed piss them off that they don't want to talk to me anymore. Part of me is glad but part of me feels lonely. Very lonely.

I've been in a long distance relationship for quite some time now and we are waiting for her to finish school next spring before we move in together. It's difficult for me to think that's really going to happen. She reassures me often that it will.

I should be happy with that but nothing beats seeing a friend face-to-face regularly and talking to each other.

I feel sad and lonely and selfish. I don't want to hurt myself but I do kinda wish I was dead.

Brainscape hack or such (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Is there a way to download or otherwise use Brainscape flashcards without paying (imo) high subscription prices for their "brain science"?

I'm going to see what I can do on my own but I'm low skill so any help would be appreciated.

TIA!

I bought a Grom about 3 months ago - my first bike.

I love it, except for the mirrors. I drive a lot on one lane roads and not being able to get a quick glance before turning my head is driving me nuts.

I'm guessing bar end would be best but trying to find good reviews (that is, not LLM BS or not so subtle marketing disguised as blogs, etc) has been challenging.

I would love to hear what y'all have to say.

I bought a pair of hypoallergenic pillows a couple of weeks ago and immediately started having a reaction to them. I washed them and no change.

I looked at what they're made from and I think it might be the Lyocell Tencel in the cover - made from eucalyptus trees.

Everything else about them is the same - afaik - as my other pillows.

Anyone else experience this or know anything about it?

I've been lurking here for a while, trying to learn and set up my own stuff. I'm starting off with music. I have a few thousand files in different formats and plenty of duplicates.

I already have an Emby server set up and it works very well.

However, is there a music manager that will help me find and eliminate duplicates?

I'm using Linux Mint and I'm still figuring out how to set up the various users and groups so that the software can access where my music is stored.

I'm thinking Lidarr but - as mentioned - something about setting up users and a media group and doing the permissions is not clicking.

For Emby to work, I've made the music directory a shared location and opened guest access.

Any pointers to step by step guides on any of this would be very helpful as well.
