Good point (I shouldn't drop words). The Z2 A, which is in the lower-end Xbox Ally X, is basically the Steam Deck's chip. AMD naming is so strange.

It's mostly an iteration on existing handhelds with extra Microsoft changes on top. It's exciting if you don't want to leave the comfort of Windows. Unfortunately, it's just as much of a nightmare for privacy and other ethical reasons as other Windows handhelds. It also seems like it's going to be power hungry and not aimed at directly competing with the Steam Deck, which is still the industry standard right now. Handhelds need more efficiency, not more performance.

Also it's Z2 Extreme, not Zen 2 Extreme. The Steam Deck's APU is based on Zen 2, the Z2 is based on Zen 5.

Repeating misogyny is still harmful even if it isn't your own thoughts that are misogynistic

This is the sort of app that really needs to be open source or at least open dataset. Right now there's no way to see if their data is reliable. Aurora Store tells me that app has tracking in it (minor, but still, ewww), which is also concerning, so I'm not going to install it to find out if that information is at least provided in-app.

Oh also it's developed by this super generic-looking company BashSquare. Overall not very confidence-inspiring.

Being against your work supporting genocide seems pretty work-related to me. At best, it'll just destroy their company culture (not that I'm convinced it's good to start with). Optimistically, I hope everyone who's hard to replace quits and finds a better job somewhere that cares about more than infinite financial growth.

I've mirrored it to my own git server too https://git.ngram.ca/mirrors/cdrm-project I will ignore DCMAs because I (and the server) don't live in the USA.

According to the original source the majority of Albertans do not see it that way (only 44% think she's a traitor), which are realistically the voices who matter the most in getting her out of power.

I do almost the same thing as a(n unpaid) hobby that I do as my (paid) job. I'm a software developer who writes open-source software on the side.

I've also seen a few of my other hobbies grow into serious industries with real employees. The (hobby) drone industry and the 3D printing industry are quite large and growing (I assume).

If you (or anyone else) has any suggestions for emulators/tools to mirror, send them my way. I already have a few on my Forgejo server https://git.ngni.us/mirrors

Steam Deck plugin for controlling additional power settings. New in this version:

  • Online repository of setting profiles
  • Settings variants for every game #82
  • New save file and override file format
  • Steam Deck OLED compatibility tweaks
  • UI fixes (hopefully somewhat future proof)
  • Bugfixes
  • Removed some legacy code

It should be available on the main Decky store soon™ (it's already on the testing store). I lurk here too much to ask for a favour, but if you submit a testing report you can speed up getting this version onto the main store.

Decky fan control plugin for Steam Deck. The new version fixes SteamOS 3.5 support and has some technical changes for the nerds. It should be available on the Decky store soon™

It being harder to repair means it shouldn't be repairable? That's an... interesting stance to take. Right to Repair is all about giving people the information and resources necessary to make a repair, especially if it's not designed to be repaired.
