I'm one of the moderators but my account is on .world and don't have any lemm.ee one to use, I need someone inside to be made Mod and then help me move the community.

For mobile phone client applications for Lemmy, I generally prefer using Boost for Lemmy and Summit for Lemmy.

The Boost app is proprietary, as it offers an ad-free version available for a small fee. The Boost Lemmy client app features a Material You color theme that aligns closely with Material Design guidelines. Additionally, I find the rocket icon particularly appealing.

I particularly appreciate the Summit app because it makes it convenient to capture screenshots or photos of posts directly within the app, without needing to rely on the phone's built-in screenshot functionality.

Does it even make a difference? Would much appreciate some suggestions.

I’ve recently started exploring Lemmy and discovered there are at least seven or eight different apps, clients, and APIs out there that let you browse, post, and interact with Lemmy communities. With so many options, I’m a bit overwhelmed and would love your input on which one(s) you use and why.

A few things I’m curious about:

Platform support: Do you use a mobile app (Android/iOS) or a web-based interface?

Feature set: Which apps offer the best experience for browsing multiple instances, notifications, or advanced moderation tools?

Pros & cons: What do you like most (and least) about the client/API you use? Performance, UI design, stability, etc.

I’ve tried scanning GitHub and the official Lemmy docs, but it’s hard to tell which projects are actively maintained and which give the smoothest experience. If possible, I’d love to hear about:

1. Your favorite mobile app(s) for Lemmy (Android or iOS).

2. Any tips on connecting to multiple instances or switching between them seamlessly.

So I always here about on how Google Android and IOS those companies can see all your notifications. This is because to show a notification it calls an API.

Is there any technical reason that it has to send your notification data to Google and Apple or is it just to get more data on you?

As a part of my highschool graduation, I will be going to Berlin with my class from 7th to 11th of July, and I will have about 2-4 hours of free time a day

I have free access to public transport, a burner phone, a rainbow collar and 100€ I intend to spend on food and entertainment for 4 days.

It's been two months since "liberation day" here in the u.s. and while most of the tarrifs are on a pause the tarrifs on China are still pretty high. I haven't noticed anything from my normal grocery runs, was wondering if anyone else has noticed anything.

To people who were born speaking a language then moved to somewhere with a different language. Do you find your inner monologue speaking the new language or do you think natively and translate for speech?

This fucked with me a bit. Al Jazeera have 15million subscribers. Even less than two years ago, they had videos getting tens of millions of views. Now, everything has dropped off a cliff since then. I'm very picky about what I allow through a firewall, and deviant art is heavily integrated with the Israeli company Wix. More than I care to enable. Like there is some kind of code or executable between thumbnails and full images that requires trusting a wix server implicitly. I draw the line when the DNS listing could be accessed by other websites and is not just a media server or CDN. Anyways, is there anywhere else with ultra niche type science fiction stuff beyond childishness, fantasy, and franchises and some hard science fiction stuff like O'Neill cylinders?

the story starts out in 2075 with the main characters, nicolle and andrei, who live a normal life. nicolle is exhausted from work and andrei wants to be accepted and understood. both of them get invited to this party where many people are going, but their phones can’t access anyone and all the doors are locked and such so they can’t escape. people slowly get killed one-by-one until there’s only a few survivors.

I'm not talking about folding, cutting, or taping. I'm talking about somewhere between pulping, molding, additives, papier-mâché, low strength composites, and IKEA furniture.

I'm wondering how cardboard egg cartons are formed or any number of other logistics packing materials. That process must be relatively cheap to do and might have a lower environmental impact compared to many other materials. I have a collection of various cardboard and discarded rough card stock I use for custom boxes, storage, and jigs, but it would be cool to make 3d printed molds filled with a pulp like slurry of old cardboard to make stuff for the cost of time and trash.

Like if I was pressing a clay-like cardboard slurry into a prepared mold preped similar to a gel coated fiberglass mold, what might work well to seal or add a surface finish?

I could make a vacuum form for a thermoplastic wrap, but coating a mold first has long been a curiosity of mine. Foils and leaf seem obvious, but what about coatings?

I have a Mitsubishi Electric "MSZ-GL06NA".

The vanes seem to not move at all, regardless of any position.

The vane motor makes no noise either that I can hear.

Mitsubishi Electric doesn't provide on the phone help for end users.

And the internet is full of SEO spam.

I tried:

1. Cutting the power for 1 minute.
2. Setting vane to open / close and doing #1

Is there an external reset button perhaps, what else should I do for troubleshooting?

Edit 1: Solution found! Steps:

1. Turn breaker off
2. Remove front panel
3. Remove Motor
4. Twist motor to extremes then back to "closed"
5. Remove motor wires and reseating
6. Putt all back together
