Thank you, I'm going to look at it.

I didn't think that it could require to edit the SVG 😵‍💫

Hi there, I like KDE and also minimalism.

I try to decluter a bit my virtual desktop and I wonder how I can change the panels and widgets colors and transparency. In this example I would like to change the hour in the bottom right corner, the opacity of the background and the color of the text.

I searched "everywhere" in the menu without seeing something useful, I tried also the manual but they are not mentionning that.

Maybe it's not possible? But if it is, can you tell me how? Thank you :)

Interesting read!

My key points are:

So how do I estimate, given all that?
I gather as much political context as possible before I even look at the code.

and

Finally, I go back to my manager with a risk assessment, not with a concrete estimate. I don’t ever say “this is a four-week project”. I say something like “I don’t think we’ll get this done in one week, because X Y Z

The article is nice and the finals observations are saddly so true :/ :(

Even LLMs (Large Language Models) like ChatGPT optimize for the wrong thing. They optimize for sounding confident. For sounding like they know the answer. Not for being right. Not for being honest.

Nice read.

The entire smartphone ecosystem is designed to be used almost exclusively through Google or iOS services: government apps, banking apps, prepaid health-insurance apps, and countless other examples. Even though a phone is a handheld computer, it's far from being a computer in the sense of giving users real control over the software they run.

That's for me one of the biggest problem.

Hi there, I'm working on a new app with Vuejs 3 and I wonder what are the good practice to architecture the app and to handle guards, JWT token refresh, reactivity and not having spaghetti code.

I started with the basic Vuetify app and added Pinia and the vue-router. 🤠

One problem I want to solve is how to get the list to populate the first page with a list of objects, lets say a book list. Right now I created a store.books list and an action to call the API, according to the doc ( https://pinia.vuejs.org/core-concepts/actions.html ). But then I have to call the action when the user log in, or when the component is mounted, or when there is a refresh.

I found it not very DRY and just not smart, so I need some help and good doc to understand how to structure my app.

Thank you 😌

Nice reminder!

For which kind of projects do you give? What are the core apps, the most important softwares / teams you want to support?

For me, I think that Wikipedia, f-droid and davx5 are a bit the core of the core of my value and workflow.

What about you guys?

Hello 😊 Do you have in mind an android app that allows you to make diagrams?

Even something simple that lets you edit and view text graph like mermaid.js.org or other text format.

And if it's possible to integrate these tools with markdown notes that would be huge!!!! 🤗🤗🤗

Thanks for your boosts and answers!

For exemple on desktop I use draw.io or zettlr.com

I'm tired of the argument that the solution to fight tracking/ads/subscription/gafam is self hosting.

It's a solution for some nice people that have knowledge, time and money for.

But it's not a solution for everyone.
We need more small nice open source association and company that provide services for people that don't know the difference between a web search engine and a navigator or just a server and a client. I think that initiatives like “les chatons” in France are amazing for that!!! ( https://www.chatons.org/en )

And just to be clear, I think that self-hosted services are a part of the solution. :)

Hi, I wonder if there is a setting somewhere to setup the default sharpness for all the android photo app.

As you can see in my example the sharper picture is way too sharp and unnatural and it’s horrible with faces.

With FreeDCam I'm able to set that but this app is too complex to use it in the every day use.

I have a Fairphone3 with /e/os but I don't think that's matter.

Any suggestion?

( and it’s not related with the subjecHorrible Pictures Zenfone 8t: Horrible Pictures Zenfone 8 )

I believe you can use registers in global search (also in buffer search). So just ctrl-r + ", for instance, to add the default register content when searching.

I search a lot for this small tip 😅

An App by Google to test RCS protocol (android.googlesource.com)
submitted 2 years ago by lascapi@jlai.lu to c/opensource@lemmy.ml

Hi there, first I don't fully understand what is going on with RCS protocol.

Is it a new wallet garden for Google/Samsung/Apple or is it possibly a good move for secure and decentralized communication.

What do you think about this small test app and about the RCS protocol in general ? Is it worth to take a look ?

This is a fork of QKSMS which is not maintained anymore: https://github.com/moezbhatti/qksms/issues/1970

The main thing about Fairphone is not the phone but the supply chain.

https://www.fairphone.com/en/impact/

Nothing is perfect and a phone cannot make happy every one (is there a jack or not ...). But I'm happy that they try to make a good phone with all the hidden things in mind (from where come from the rough material, who is making the pieces and in which conditions ...). That's more important for me then the final product.
