I fucking hate these "All eyes on ______" trends.
Before it was all eyes on Madleen, it was all eyes on AI generated Rafah, posted over 50 million times. Less than a year later, Rafah has been successfully ethnically cleansed and its buildings systematically destroyed.
It's never about the actual Palestinians who are still alive, who fight everyday to care for eachother and build community and resist the most vile and repulsive political project of our time. These trends feel like social media psyops. It's like they're reducing solidarity to its most asinine forms, reducing solidarity to something so pointless and thoughtless and easily discarded.
anybody have news on the members of Madleen? I remember reading that most of its members were deported, but I feel like that story was dropped and forgotten about before everyone was released. Is there any news on whether there are still members being held hostage by israel?

Of course, we have infinite reasons to be pessimistic, but isn't there a point where the skepticism - even if we think it is based on material or intellectual analysis - becomes its own stumbling block?
But, comrades, be materialistic, don't be idealistic.
Like Gramsci said, our intellect drives us towards pessimism, but our will makes us optimists. What is the point of doing anything if we let all the reasons to be pessimistic rule our life? Left movements require the will to be optimistic, to not erase the parts of us that are idealist, because without those we would be crushed by the weight of what we fight against.

I think there are fair reasons to be critical or skeptical of Zorhan, but I think there are fairer critiques than holding him to task for not going on Colbert and saying "death to israel" or tweeting

Ugh, I keep getting Dean Withers in my reels, and I guess he’s like this libbed up zoomer that debates conservatives, and so many people in his comments - especially anything Iran or Palestine related - are posting Kamala reaction gifs and unironically telling themselves Kamala would have been any less of a terrorist (as if she wasn’t running on more US-israeli genocide and calling Iran the greatest threat to America)
I mean, one way to bomb knowledge is to murder entire teams of scientists and other personnel, which was an essential part of israel's attacks against Iran.
For obvious reasons, most of the discussion is about the damage that Iran did or did not experience due to america's attacks, but it leaves me wondering how the killing of so many Iranian experts and other people working on their nuclear projects will affect their development.
