The maintenance work has just begun, anyone on the with the chapo.chat homeserver will not be able to use Matrix until it's back. Please see our Mastodon or future post edits for updates!

Edit: The server is back! Let us know if you have any issues in this thread.

Switching from Twitter to Mastodon for communications (hexbear.net)

Up until now our main means of communication outside the site during e.g. downtime has been via our Twitter account. Given melon-musk 's innovative destruction of Twitter as a serious or reliable platform, we'll be using a Mastodon account going forward: @hexbear@matapacos.dog.

We do plan on runing an official Hexbear Mastodon instance, the only reason it hasn't been set up just yet is because we want to move our infrastructure around first, and I don't expect that to happen for another couple months at least.

The more Hexbear-adjacent Mastodon instances the better, so I'm all for this to remain an unofficial thing you host. But if you want it to become something official we help host and fund, feel free to reach out.
