Last week I mentioned I was too busy to search for new stuff, this week I decided to change that. My goal was simple: dig for some absolute trash manhwa to use as a time filler when needed. This didn't really work out as planned.
I won't say I struck gold (it's too early for that) but I did find three series which turned out kind of promising. These are:
- The Peaceful Life of a Maid Who Hides Her Power and Enjoys It - great swords(wo)man dies, comes back a few years after her death and decides to become a maid to survive. It's a comedy about a woman with tons of strength and little patience for anything annoying (including nobles).
Only one chapter so far, good start. - Melody: The Crazy Flower Blooms - princess doesn't want to be married off like a trophy, cuts her hair, starts wearing pants and acts like a tomboy to make people think she lost her mind. Seemingly simple story which quickly moves towards topics of freedom and responsibility. Has some surprisingly emotional scenes.
There's plenty of reading with 150 chapters already available. - 100 Curses of the Ellestone Manor - woman dies and gets yoinked from the real world into a body of a young necromancer from a webtoon she used to read. She decides to use her wit and knowledge of the story to shape her own comfortable future and avoid character's canon destiny. Curses are unique and pretty interesting so far but I'm curious if thing will stay that way or if some higher power will force a course correction towards the original story.
Middle of the road with only 40 chapters out so far.
So yeah - three stories, all with a decent premise and fun execution. Unexpected but very welcome turn of events.
