A pretty satisfying finale for this show.

It had a couple of episodes I enjoyed, but Yoi and Kohaku navigating their feelings in the first half was downright frustrating to watch. They had some weird, stressful kind of tension between them before both developed and realized their romantic attraction to each other. Both stumbled and sulked but learned to take a step forward; it wasn't one-sided.

All in all I liked it more than I disliked it. It wasn't the worst shoujo romance I've seen; wasn't even the worst one in the winter season.

That was a pretty decent ending, and in an odd way, it almost feels like it would be a good beginning for a genuinely good romance.

This series has been odd. In a good romance, I can feel the connection between the main characters, but I only very rarely and briefly felt it in this one. In spite of the fact that they declared themselves a couple so early on, it felt pretty much all the way through like they were, each for their own reasons, never really connecting. It seemed like every time they started heading toward actually opening up to each other, Kohaku would ruin the moment by moving in on Yoi and looking like he was going to stick his hand up her skirt any second, or Yoi would ruin the moment by panicking and going stiff and distant, or both. It was almost more like a slow burn romance in which nothing has even been hinted at between the two of them - one of those in which they have mutual feelings, but neither realizes it because they're both too scared and awkward to admit it. As if the declaration somehow didn't count.

Even at the end here it didn't feel like they'd quite connected, but at least it felt like they were finally making lasting progress. Though on the odd scale of this series, that was actually sort of satisfying.
