That episode felt like five minutes. I was expecting the episode to be about the dinner scene in Coffin, then the next thing I know, it ended. Boy, that meeting ended in an awkward note. The dinner scene must be that spicy for Juju to be that apprehensive about it.

Shinju is too attached to her sister and is lowkey yandere (most doting imouto since Kaju and Ui... wait, I sense a pattern).

~~Is Suzuka the same person as Bocchi Fan #2? Suzuka likes taking photos, Fan #2 is a film student...~~

The strongest accidental rizzlord of today strikes again (he's only just buying a not!Monster drink).

Banner: It doesn't take much for Juju to cosplay Bocchi

This was chapter 74, no? Please please please give me a third season, I want to see this story animated from the beginning to the end!

This Coffin arc is fun, by the way. And Marin getting her hopes up~
(Aah, teenagers... you love, you're loved back, but you don't know how to express yourself or to pick up the clues from the other person. Wakana and her are an adorably baka couple!)

EDIT: I had some epiphany about this series. Might as well share it here.

Stories where the protag (protagonist) and MC (main character) are the same character are so common that people often confuse both roles. Even if they're distinct - the protag is the one driving the story and pursuing goals, while the MC is the character you share the point of view with. My Dress-Up Darling starts as an exception:

  • Kitagawa Marin is the protagonist, actively making the story to progress; she asks "Gojou-kun~!" to make her cosplays so she can show her love for her favs and the hobby as a whole. We don't see a lot from her PoV, except through her interactions with Wakana.
  • Gojou Wakana is the main character. Unlike Marin, Wakana is reacting to the story, in a rather passive way. But we see things through his eyes, we have access to his thoughts, so goes on.

That's only at the start, though. As the story progresses, those two roles start blurring into each other; with Wakana standing up and deciding "it's OK if I love hina dolls!", and we get more and more of Marin's thoughts. Such as in this episode, where she's anxiously hopeful for the night with Wakana. They're becoming both protagonists, and both main characters.

And someone might say "meh... it was atypical at the start, now typical? Boring". But nope - it's brilliant, because it mirrors the progression of their relationship, and the impact one has in the other's life. They start in different worlds (the popular gyaru and the lone otaku), but they're getting closer to each other and more able to understand each other.

To say things further I'd need to spoil the manga; I'm not going to do it. So thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I like the attention to detail: of how Donki's actual music played in the background while they were shopping.
