HGIBO Gundam Vidar

Super fun kit, as long as you go in expecting to do some painting. Gundam Color Phantom Gray and Gundam Marker Metallic Red were all I needed (besides my panel lining fluid), and I'm pretty happy with the result.

That said, any tips on how to apply the metallic Gundam markers more evenly?

Gundam alternate calendars usually taking place in some indeterminable far future, but not everything from the old era is gone. Sometimes, traces and remnants remained, even thrived into the new era.

Zastava Arms is one such survivor in the Cosmic Era. Founded in 1853, this company made cannons, mortars and guns. Into the Cosmic Era, Zastava start to dabble in mobile suit weapons manufacturing, creating the Zastava-Stigmate RFW-99 beam sub-machine gun.

The RFW-99 is used on the Eurasia Federation's Hyperion series mobile suits, a (failed) competitor to the Atlantic Federation-Orb's G-project mobile suits.

Unlike the MS weapons of the G-project, the RFW-99 has removable battery pack instead of drawing power from the MS itself. The weapon is also equipped with a beam knife. Though its output per shot is lower than its G-project counterparts, it possess higher rate of fire.

I had the time to do a quick photoshoot (although it was interrupted by the piece of v-fin snapping off again). This kit was super fun.

Bandai Namco Filmworks made several announcements at its panel for the 30th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing franchise at San Diego Comic-Con International on Thursday, beginning with the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz anime returning to theaters in the United States in 4K resolution.

The franchise will have a new manga titled Mobile Suit Gundam Wing 0.5 Point Half Preventer-7 launching in August. The manga will feature the characters Adin Lowe and Long Meilan. The first chapter is already available in English in the franchise's 30th anniversary website, ahead of the Japanese release.

Series synopsis from AniList:

Mankind has moved into space. Thousands of people live on giant orbiting space colonies called "Sides." However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaries build five robotic weapons called Gundams and plan to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence. Piloted by five young men, these Gundams carry the colonists' hopes and dreams of freedom with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!

I guess in a world with all sorts of enhanced people running around, even subcompact pistol made to be as small and concealable as possible, needs magnum level firepower.

IRL, this weapon suffers from heavy trigger pull and of course, excessive recoil due to the .357 Magnum cartridge, but I guess thats not really a problem for enhanced coordinators. Using .357 Magnum also has the benefit of being able to load a weaker and lighter .38 Special rounds.

On June 14th C.E. 70, ZAFT forces entered Lagrange Point 4 and laid siege to the resource asteroid Nova. While the initial battle broke out around the asteroid base, the fighting escalated to surrounding colonies. Eventually the civilian populations of these colonies had to be evacuated.

On July 12th, the defending Republic of East Asia forces retreated from Nova, ending the month-long siege with ZAFT successfully taking control of the asteroid base. After the battle, it was decided to move the asteroid to Lagrange Point 5, closer to PLANT homeland. During the transport, the Earth Alliance attempted to retake the asteroid, but were defeated by the ZAFT escort fleet, of which Miguel Aiman was part of. After Nova was moved to L5, the asteroid was converted into a space fortress and renamed Boaz.

Frustrated by their repeated defeat in the war, the Earth Alliance re-examined the G project proposed by Admiral Halberton as a mean to break the stalemate and gain an advantage over ZAFT. Soon the project is approved by the Alliance, and with the assistance of the Sahaku clan of Orb Union, work began on these top-secret weapons that Alliance hoped would reverse the course of the disastrous war.

Finished up a rewatch of Zeta recently, and it just kind a solidified my already positive viewpoint. She took her lumps, learned from them, and ended up a more than competent pilot. All while keeping Kamille grounded and playing babysitter.

Anyone else have a favorite? Or a least favorite?

I cannot begin to express how much pink Gundam marker was required to paint over that damn sword.

Gotta love pausing on in-between cells.

Honestly I'd settle for an HG.

Not sure if it triple-boots of if each component runs a different operating system. They're all programmed in COBOL, though.

I can't remember the last time a new Haropla came out, but I really do enjoy silliness like this sometimes.

Despite losing the Battle of Endymion Crater due to the Atlantic Federation's Cyclops System, ZAFT was undeterred and continued to engage the Earth Alliance's space forces, to further reduce the Alliance's military presence in space. The Republic of East Asia's resource asteroid Nova in Lagrange Point 4 soon became the newest target for ZAFT.

On June 14th C.E. 70, ZAFT forces advanced to L4 and laid siege to Nova. While the initial fighting between ZAFT and the Republic broke out around the asteroid base, the fighting continued over several weeks, and many civilian space colonies in Lagrange Point 4 became devastated or destroyed as a result of collateral damage. Eventually the entire civilian population of the colonies had to be evacuated.

Can't believe this was 25 years ago.

Crummy pic. Hand painted over rattlecan primer. The doors no longer move because 20 year old me had no idea what he was doing and didn't sand before laying on layers of paint.

I still have this packed away somewhere. Maybe one day I'll dig the old stuff back out and see if I can get some decent photos.

Done many moons ago by my spouse and I, just after she got into Gundam. The Tri-Star kit was where I first fell in love with Molotow chrome. Unfortunately, I've found that they do not store well. At ~$10 a pen, that's a bummer.
