I miss when most people didnt have access to internet ๐
Yeah, back when there was a small barrier of effort to get to the internet. It didn't really keep anyone out, but it meant that if you were here it was because you wanted to be, not because it had been made as easy as possible to access in an attempt to lure you in and extract data through every pore of your being. Lemmy feels similar, in that you have to make an account on an instance and thats slightly harder than clicking a single button to sign in with FB or Google.
I miss being able to share the cool things I find IRL. I made the mistake of doing that once with a beautiful little grove in a state park. The post went viral on insta and within a week the spot had been trampled flat and the rangers had to put up chain link to keep people out. Just awful.
Have a nice day dude
Have one yourself . Also why do you hate that more people have the means to entertainment, news, social.etc. now ?
I dont hate mate, especially not what you wrote. It was 90% joke, but what I meant is that I miss early days of internet where there was no facebook, tiktok and other crap (no hard feelings), I was paying internet access per minute, I could barely download a song or play a low res game, but it was super fun to spend time online, there was no people that report what they ate or when they took a shit, it just felt more healthy and chill imo. Today everyone is online all the time and so many people spend their time to share negativity and being toxic instead of having fun or doing something usefull.
But you came of as a gate keeping elitist who only wants tech snobs on the internet. The thing is place like that do still exist as long as people want it let others enjoy tiktok or insta like i don't use them but do i care if others are having fun on them ? No . In this bleak short life let everyone have as much joy as you or me let's not wish to take that away yeah ?
What the fuck dude?? enough bullshit from you, Ill block you now on lemmy, but feel free to continue the storry about me being a guy who didnt let others to use internet ๐
Oh no ! You'll block me ? How am i gonna live with that ? faints.
