What codename do they use on the label? I imagine it doesn't just say "sawdust".... tree flour?

Cellulose Powder

I'm serious read the ingredients for kraft parmesan cheese

It's used in shredded cheese as well to prevent the cheese from sticking to itself. It's also why you don't really want to use shredded cheese in foods where the cheese needs to properly melt like grilled cheese sandwiches or pizza.

Single best reason to buy parmesan flakes or chunks.

Also important to know if you have a wood/smoke allergy.

Cellulose is not wood. Just like a slice of bread is not a sandwich.

That's kind of a strange argument. Cellulose isn't necessarily wood but wood is cellulose. Your sandwich is made with bread.

Partly correct, wood is a mixture of cellulose, hemi-cellulose and lignin in varying amounts.

Cellulose powder is wood pulp. It doesn't really have nutritional value and is often used in the production of certain medicine types as well, but it is definitely wood.
