"Slave drive" maybe.

I mean, they'll think it means something totally different.

I'm older than that, but it's definitely something a zoomer wouldn't understand immediately.

IDE drives? We still have some XP-era computers at school. I have upgraded them to Windows 7 now (originally I was asked to do 10, but haha), but they're not exactly usable. They barely do 1 tab in Firefox. And I am not surprised as they start at 512MB of RAM.
But at least we got rid of the 32-bit machines last year.

Something I remember from elementary school is desktop PCs locked by a key. To be honest, I miss that. I really like that concept as it can stop undetermined people from turning them on. Just like Kensington lock stops them from stealing/borrowing e.g. laptops.
Oh, yeah, and "Turbo" is... ¿slower?

I saw IDE cables referred to as PATA cables in a YouTube video earlier today. "Huh, I don't remember calling them that." Luckily right after that they clarified that's a more recent name for them. Still felt old.

Yes we compartmentalized our minds to know that "master and slave" meant something different in computer terms,

Just like we know that a cookie is not literal food.

Damn, I lost the jumper. I can pull one off my audio card, luckily I don't have to change the default IRQ, I don't have any conflicts.
