A few years later I was part of the Pirate Party Germany, thinking progress can be voted into power.
It was a time of delusions. You were not alone.
And a little bit later I was supporting the campaign of Izquierda Unida and Podemos in Spain. They raised the minimum wage, passed the gender self-determination law and increased some worker protections, despite being a minority within a government in minority. Now the political parties to the left of liberalism are cannibalizing themselves, but that's part of our cultural heritage and must be respected π©π©π©π΄π΄π΄Also they didn't do anything regarding housing prices, but I'll keep blaming the PSOE for that.
Hey I joined the pirates a few years ago. Don't say it was delusions. We still can do sth. Like demonstrating....... Yeah thats basically it.
Sounds like a based political group! There is no problem in organizing as a political party. The delusion was to think we are the new Green Party, but this time better, and we will change the world once we are elected.
Well this is almost always a delusion. By the time the green party was at power they were tame enough to understand the politic business and were ready for compromises
My point exactly. Instead of learning from their mistakes I thought this time it will be different. And in a way I was right. Maybe the pirate party is structured in a way that it never will gain any power. But than again, they were part of the national government in Czech so they can become corrupt as well
Well I think they have a higher chance than volt for example. And maybe people vote them for protest once again.
