Work Reform

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

Sure give everybody a 100k salary as the minimum wage. All companies can afford that, right?
I'll quit my fuckin' job and go do the most bullshit easy job there is for 100k all day. No need for special skills anymore, just do some basic shit.
So the way it actually works is you say” Hey fucking McDonald’s is paying this much, pay me more or I go find another job.”
Sounds great!
This is kinda the point.
Let all full time jobs pay good enough. Want skilled labor? Better give incentive to take that responsibility, or we will all work high school level jobs. It's about goddamn time the tables were turned. I'm tired of hearing "you're fortunate to have this job." No, you're fortunate to make a killing off of us.
Not saying I agree with the number, but I wholeheartedly agree with the message.
Having worked in "high end" jobs and "high school labor" - a lot of incentive will already be that you don't break your back. Being able to sit. Being able to take coffee breaks and chats in the kitchen. I'd take my husband's programming job over my jobs as a high end fashion salesperson or a lab technician every time, even if I made more in my jobs than he does.
I think also a lot of people have an innate desire to learn and move forward. Given the opportunity, my guess would be that a lot of people would decide to get further education. Also responsibility. Some people enjoy having a lot of responsibility, lead teams, etc. Imagine if just the people who actually wanted to do this for the sake of it became team leads or managers, not because they wanted to make more money in that position.
At the end of the day, everyone should be paid because they put time of their day doing something they wouldn't do for free. I don't care whether you're a lawyer or making sandwiches. If both have worked 8 hours today, both should go home with a nice wage that they can live off.
Hell yeah comrade. The capitalists have made us squirm for a meager non-living wage long enough. Let's start automating bullshit jobs and redistributing the wealth they create.
OK child
What is this, the OK corral?
~~OK~~ Oh, Kai Winn.
Explains a lot about your attitude, TBH.
No idea what that means, and I don't give a fuck.
If $50 is too much, give us a counter offer. What do you think? $35?
Right‽ The fight for 15 is like 20 fucking years old now and we're still not actually there!
Might as well go for 50 at this rate since it'll take fucking forever before we get anywhere
I like this because it's yanking the overton window just a hair leftward so we might start having actual conversations about it.
whatever the rate, it should be indexed to the cpi.
