Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).

I would ague this is almost a perfect comic
Did OP genuinely not think it was close enough to illicit the comparison that they needed to explain it?
I wouldn't have gotten it without the last panel. I know nothing about pokemon except memes.
I grew up with pokemon and I didn't get it until then. I watched the series before streaming so I never watched the beginning and the gameboy game is in vague memory (I had the gameboy color which had like 4 colors or something)
I've never played Pokemon, so, yes.
Was the explanation panel funny then?
What about a last panel with him fighting a turtle with his rat (yelling at the rat to do thunderbolt for all I care).
I didn't plan to sit down and write a literature analysis on the comic so I'm not sure. Your idea could work but it's a comic, it's not worth fighting over...
The essay is due Friday.
Maybe they just wanted an even number of panels! /j
