Image: best lunch I had in ages. Microwaved sweet potato, butter, salt, pepper and some mango-lemon hotsauce, topped with smoked herring (from a tin)
The orange sweet tater makes this dish pop!
Not just amazingly cheap, easy to prepare, incredibly nutritious and delicious, it's also pretty enough to frame! What more could you ask for?
spoiler
The answer is nothing, you could not ask for anything moreSpied on the net, would ya look at that.
Mango-lemon hotsauce with zapped potat!
Salt, butter, pepper, fish from a tin,
A well deserved lunch fit for a King!
It has what MAN craves, tasty smoked herring,
Full of electrolytes, probably, I'm guessing...
Pay no mind to that, it doesnt matter,
In the face of a lunch that can be no better.
This is what peak perfomance looks like,
If you don't agree, get on ya bike!
🥰❤️
Already forgot about the herring, going to see if I can grab some tomorrow when I do my shopping.
I wonder if it'd pair well with pasta sauce?
It probably would be fine... but I'd say mackerel or tuna would work better - at least in a tomatoey pasta sauce. The herring (aka. Kippers, if your shopping for them and get confused) is a bit more delicate, it's a white fish versus the meatiness of tuna/mackerel
I've used tuna before but sometimes I find it a bit too meaty if you know what I mean? I love tender fish so the Kippers sound like it could work well, especially if they're smoked.
Well only one way to find out!
It does. Very well indeed.
