What

Edit: ah, nevermind. Looks like my client (Boost for Lemmy) doesn't support videos properly yet

I saw just the first frame. Maybe there's some update that hasn't rolled out to me yet.

edit: I don't see an update in my play store and it says the last update was released on 30th of november. I wonder what's going on that this post behaves so inconsistently

I'm on the beta, so maybe that's it?

Edit: version 1.0.4 (7)

Nor, apparently, the web interface.

the web interface I get here on lemmy.world seems to handle it just fine

Interesting. Failed on midwest.social, but does work if I open it on lemy.lol (original location).

Thanks for the data point!

lemy.lol is the instance of the user, this community is hosted on lemmy.world. And I would say in this context, the original location is the location of the community. or are videos hosted on the users instance for some reason?

Yeah media says on the original instance it got posted on, it's just the URL that gets passed around instances.

I have no idea.

Interestingly, opening this thread on lemmy.world also does not work.

Same results with Chrome and Opera.

That's odd. Still working fine for me (lemmy.world, Firefox on Linux)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Click the hd button. Fixed it for me

For me it loaded something but then just showed a black screen
