What the author wants to tell is: We all know the rules, we were born with them, they are deep inside our genetics through natural selection and randomness of the universe. Now because of the conflict between nature and nurture and the cycles they bring, many like you and me are not able to access the "rules" cause we don't have the time to sit and think about them. He is actually motivating us to slow down. Get in touch with the rules with him and buy Rick Ashley mechadise.
