The room is difficult to explain but it's a science/engineering lab. As for the meme... That character is named Stamets and is gay. The first openly gay Trek character.
However I don't know if this is supposed to be about the character or about me because I am so aggressively gay on this account. So trust me. We're both laughing and both confused
