I have committed airfryer. Reading the manual (cos I'm weird) and it says 'Do not use with oil'. Wtf? If you are going to fry then somehow oil HAS to be involved. Or do they mean like deep frying?

EDIT: thanks heaps for comments. Am about to embark on the first essay into airfrying. Keeping it simple with some party pies.

Treat it just like an oven. If you put oil on your crumbed food then put it on. If you don't normally, then you don't have to.

I think they mean deep frying. Of course oil is involved to stop your items from sticking to the basket. But nothing is actually getting fried, it's more like an intense fan forced oven

There are some decent ways to lightly coat food with your favorite oil. I use a Misto for sesame oil when I'm doing fried rice.
