I had a phase where I'd basically do the same - wake up at four and be incredibly snappy for the rest of the morning. It eventually passed, and I hope the same will be said for yours.
Well my day off really helped, napped throughout the day and slept alone at night for a change (my partner can be very restless in her sleep).
Hopefully things will improve from here on out.
