[–] 98codes@lemm.ee 95 points 3 years ago (1 child) That’s not wefwef—that’s on lemmy.world; it’s not keeping up. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] justdoit@lemmy.world 27 points 3 years ago (3 children) Ah, good point- I was mostly being hyperbolic to illustrate just how shitty the Reddit app was. I think all the previous redditors did the same thing I did when signing up. Lemmy.world sounds the most general, so that’s the instance I used. I’ll give a smaller/more local one a try and see if that improves the performance! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] Mystical_Toe_Cheese@sh.itjust.works 19 points 3 years ago (2 children) I ran into the same issue with Lemmy.World. Tried switching to Beehaw.org first (before I learned that they had defederated from some of the bigger instances) and had my “application” rejected. Appears I didn’t provide good enough reasons for why I wanted to join their particular instance. To me, it just shouldn’t be that serious. Tried sh.it just.works and well, it works! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] spez_@lemmy.world 12 points 3 years ago (1 child) Fixed link: https://sh.itjust.works/ permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] wetnoodle@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 3 years ago (1 child) lol, it's spez permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Derproid@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 years ago Even he knows reddit is a sinking ship. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SmashingSquid@notyour.rodeo 6 points 3 years ago (2 children) I ended up just setting up my own instance. Wefwef is speedy since I'm not hosting other users or any communities. I tried the native iOS apps but prefer wefwef. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Derproid@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 years ago Yeah I'll probably end up doing this eventually, just hope there's a way to migrate my account when I do. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Derproid@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 years ago Yeah I'll probably end up doing this eventually, just hope there's a way to migrate my account when I do. permalink fedilink source parent [–] 98codes@lemm.ee 14 points 3 years ago (3 children) That’s how I wound up on lemm.ee—US hosted, not the biggest one, with admins that seem to give a damn was good enough for me. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] lakemalcom10@lemm.ee 9 points 3 years ago (1 child) I lucked into lemm.ee and it's been great. Highly recommend. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] AggravatingPost587@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent [–] ThatSandwichGuy@aussie.zone 5 points 3 years ago Aussie.zone for me. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Koen967@feddit.nl 3 points 3 years ago Same. Started on lemmy.world which was great and all, but switched to feddit.nl since it's closest to me, smaller and works faster for me. There are a lot of servers out there so we can spread the workload. permalink fedilink source parent [–] FarLine99@lemm.ee 1 point 3 years ago lemm.ee is really good, fast, mature instance with good admin. Not ad, unfortunately 😁 permalink fedilink source parent
