Incidentally, I was curious what this number actually is, but apparently no one is even attempting to keep track of how many deer are injured/killed by cars, despite frequently involving a police report and/or insurance claim
I can literally see a dead deer every few miles in some places. I imagine a portion of them are hit by larger trucks where an insurance claim isn't necessary.
It'd be a special kind of hell world if cars did a better job of deer population control than hunters given how much hunters lobby to shoot more deer
