neurodiverse
What is Neurodivergence?
It's ADHD, Autism, OCD, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, bi-polar, aspd, etc etc etc etc
“neurologically atypical patterns of thought or behavior”
So, it’s very broad, if you feel like it describes you then it does as far as we're concerned
Rules
1.) ableist language=post or comment will probably get removed (enforced case by case, some comments will be removed and restored due to complex situations). repeated use of ableist language=banned from comm and possibly site depending on severity. properly tagged posts with CW can use them for the purposes of discussing them
2.) always assume good faith when dealing with a fellow nd comrade especially due to lack of social awareness being a common symptom of neurodivergence
2.5) right to disengage is rigidly enforced. violations will get you purged from the comm. see rule 3 for explanation on appeals
3.) no talking over nd comrades about things you haven't personally experienced as a neurotypical chapo, you will be purged. If you're ND it is absolutely fine to give your own perspective if it conflicts with another's, but do so with empathy and the intention to learn about each other, not prove who's experience is valid. Appeal process is like appealing in user union but you dm the nd comrade you talked over with your appeal (so make it a good one) and then dm the mods with screenshot proof that you resolved it. fake screenies will get you banned from the site, we will confirm with the comrade you dm'd.
3.5) everyone has their own lived experiences, and to invalidate them is to post cringe. comments will be removed on a case by case basis depending on determined level of awareness and faith
4.) Interest Policing will not be tolerated in any form. Support your comrades in their joy!

My advice for you is to list what textures/tactile feedback gives you sensory joy.
Maybe is the poverty lyfe/anticonsumerist in me but often I find the best sensory tools aren't even designed as sensory tools; there's a bottle cap in my hand right now that is better than 90% of the sensory tools that I've come across. Once you have your list of things that give you sensory joy it becomes so much easier to identify what sensory tools are going to be the best ones for you.
After all, sensory needs are very much a matter of individual preference and what works for me won't necessarily work for you. It's also worth keeping in mind that reviews of sensory tools suffer from what I suspect is a massive survivorship bias; most people who find them to be meh or okay but not great are just going to attribute their experience to their personal preference and they're unlikely to give a 3-star review while the people who tend review them are going to give rave reviews because it's perfect for them. So you'll often find that every sensory tool has these glowing recommendations but that's often a reflection of them being a good fit for that individual rather than it being a reflection of its universal appeal or it's suitability for your needs.
(You might also consider what else you want in a sensory tool such as it being stealth, being wearable, fitting into your pocket, having a lanyard attached to it etc.)
With all that being said, I've always wanted one of these [CW: R*ddit]
I appreciate this reply a lot.
I think that part of why I even made the post was because most youtube reviews are form edc channels or like influencers and I just want a personal experience instead? I'm still navigating what I do and don't like but I can add a list. Let me do that real quick lol
Sounds like you'd probably enjoy the following fidget tools. Note that these are probably knockoffs of "premium" fidget tools but they aren't the cheap and nasty ones that you'd find in a dollar store:

Note that I haven't shopped around for the best possible price so if you see something that takes your fancy it might be worth looking around on AliExpress as well as Temu and Amazon etc. to see what their prices are like.
The triangle one caught my eye immediately. Gonna shop around and see what I can come up with on Ali. Maybe get a few from Ali, and a few from Etsy, then wait at the door like a puppy for 3 weeks lol.
The other fidget tools that I've had my eye on are called Stimagz and they look like they'd scratch that "clicky" itch for you.
They're definitely premium priced and I've seen them go in hard on the viral marketing angle which makes me a bit skeptical but it might be something worth considering.
The viral bit reminds me of yesterday when I was looking at the PopPucks from Popsocket. I searched for videos and there were a ton from TikTok infuencers and it felt like a big flashing red light was going off.
I like the sort of quasi-infinite building aspect of it. Similar to infinity cubes. May be a bit out of my price range though.
