Speaking at a news conference at the United Nations on Saturday, the minister called a 10-point peace blueprint promoted by Kyiv “completely not feasible”.

Kyiv's plan:

Energy security, with a focus on price restrictions on Russian energy resources

Restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and Russia reaffirming it according to the UN Charter

Withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, the restoration of Ukraine’s state borders with Russia

Justice, including the establishment of a special tribunal to prosecute Russian war crimes

building security architecture in the Euro-Atlantic space, including guarantees for Ukraine.

What leverage does Ukraine think they have to institute such a blatantly pro-Ukraine peace resolution? Based on Ukraine's proposed plan, you'd think they were at the sea of Azov and halfway to Moscow, rather than stuck in a few salients along the same frontline they were at a year ago.

Yes exactly, how dare a defending country propose a peace plan, the nerve of those Ukrainians wanting peace for Ukraine and fellow Ukrainians.

That's not the point. The point is whether Ukraine's peace plan makes sense in the context of the current situation in Ukraine. It doesn't, and frankly it's an indication that Ukraine really doesn't want peace right now because they dont think they have the leverage to demand a fair peace.

Ukraine know well enough that if Putin gets anything from this war, the next one is just a few years away. If they were to ever give him the slightest bit of territory they'd get peace for a couple of years only. Why do people like you not understand this?

Then why have a peace blueprint in the first place? By your description, Ukraine has no reason whatsoever to ask for peace. Why propose a peace blueprint?

But why? Why would Russia invade again in a few years? What's the logic behind that? Just "putler bad", "russia bad". Or is there any actual reasoning on why?

Because they won territory. If you win territory in a dispute, it's much easier to sell the whole conflict as a win to your population. If you come home empty-handed, it's much more difficult.

Tell me: if the war concludes and Russia gets territory, why wouldn't they do it again? Presumably the reasons for the initial attack still exist. If Russia sees that their previous invasion netted them territory, how is that not a confirmation that they can win territory by invading other countries?

Then... they failed? You're saying that if they win, they fail. Or at least, they can't win hard enough to actually get what they want.

You're also assuming Russia wants territory. If Russia wanted, say, Ukraine not being admitted to NATO, and they can get a peace that ensures that, then there isn't a reason for them to invade again. Or if Russia wanted UKR to stop shelling the eastern regions, then annexing just them might stop that, in which case, they don't have any reason to invade again.

Then… they failed? You’re saying that if they win, they fail. Or at least, they can’t win hard enough to actually get what they want.

Sorry, but I don't understand what you're trying to say here. If, for example, one reason for the initial attack was enlarging their area for more natural resources, why would they fail even if they win? It's incredibly naive to think their goal is something boolean, that you either achieve or don't. If your goal is to get more land, you can win once - and then invade again. How is this not obvious to you?

You’re also assuming Russia wants territory. If Russia wanted, say, Ukraine not being admitted to NATO, and they can get a peace that ensures that, then there isn’t a reason for them to invade again.

Then why didn't Russia make this offer after a couple of days? Why is Russia not indicating that this is any kind of option? They are the aggressor, they have the power to stop this, especially if they say what they want.

Or if Russia wanted UKR to stop shelling the eastern regions, then annexing just them might stop that, in which case, they don’t have any reason to invade again.

How in the world do you believe an invasion into a neighbouring country to reduce the likelihood of "shelling eastern regions"?

At this point the war is a stalemate. Given that, Ukraine's requirements for peace are... well they don't have the "war-score" to try for those options yet. TBH I don't think they want peace without those requirements, and Russia isn't beat enough to agree. So peace is just off the table for now. Which suggests it was never a serious offer anyway.

This was is absolutely not at a stalemate. Ukraine just wasted their offensive capability and all the weapons they received in an offensive that failed to accomplish anything. If people seriously think that Russia isn't going to go on an offensive of their own with the 400k troops they assembled, they're in for a big surprise.

Ukraine did nothing of those things. Your addiction to Putin propaganda is just showing.

They had one a year ago, that was probably far more favorable than anything they will see now, until their minders shot it down.

This isn't even close to being a a legitimate peace proposal, at best it is an attempt to spin a "look, those mean Russians won't accept peace!" news story. There's nothing even resembling a concession, it reads more like a demand for unconditional surrender.

The fact that Putin invaded Ukraine. Putin won't leave, so Ukraine has to make them. This all fucking started when pussy Putin decided to be a little bitch. This whole war can end right now if Putin just fucks off and goes the fuck home.
