They aren’t interested in stopping right wing domestic terrorism, attempted coups that get blatantly advertised on social media, or politicians compromised by foreign powers. What is it the FBI does care about, exactly?

Keeping their jobs, maybe. Avoiding the accusations of "deep state", no matter how justified they might be in taking action.
