“One of the things that we heard last night, resoundingly across the country, is that we are in ... a new movement in this country,” Flanagan said. “Many of us were elected who refused corporate PAC money, who are beholden only to the people who elected us and are ready to fight for bold change. And so I think it’s time for new leadership.”

What if my Senator is Schumer? How do I politely tell him to retire already?

Sir, as one of your constituents I do not feel as though you have acted in accordance with the needs or the will of the people who elected you into office, but rather submitted to the demands of private interests and corporate donors. Your actions, or often lack of action, have caused harm at worst and at best kept positive change from happening. I respectfully ask that you step down and allow the next generation of leadership to enact the will of regular Americans.

    Sincerely, dhork.

He's openly suggested that he's more loyal to Israel than to the united States. Tell him that's borderline treason and he's despicable for supporting genocide. Tell him you want a new rep and a new leader.

Honestly, because it's staffers that receive communications; they can either delete it or log it, and coming at them with (too much) spite might tip them over to ignore you. So politely tell their boss to fuck off, so that message might actually get logged.

They work for a piece of shit. You gonna be polite to a Nazi general because he’s just doing his job? Making all his staff quit would go a long way toward making him actually fuck off, rather than getting your polite “fuck off” message politely delivered to the nearest trash bin so they don’t get fired.

You're not wrong. My point is that lots of staffers work for shitbags, and to be fair, lots of staffers are shitbags. But if you want your voice to be logged and show up on a chart that might tip the scale, one path might work better than the other.

If he hasn't already felt how incredibly unwelcome he is, you can politely figure out a way to tell him to "go fuck himself".

Bully tactics is how people like him ended up in power. Start there. End with a hug and make sure it doesn't happen again. Better yet, give what's left of this land back to the natives. They did it better. #LANDBACK

Electing some natives to high offices like New Mexico did is a good start, as long as it's not done blindly. Power corrupts and they're just as corruptible as any other human beings are. It's about deeds, not words, but even dishonest words often contain red flags warning of future deeds. Don't feel too bad if you get scammed by any given politician, they're crafty devils, but it doesn't matter how regularly or how badly you get scammed by the best of them, you've still got a responsibility to try to figure out which ones have some truth and respectability left in them.
