Good games will be profitable when they are readily available for purchase and not locked behind an overpriced console that becomes obsolete every 6-8 years. I love the games that Nintendo puts out. But I'm not going to purchase a switch 2 just for a handful of games. No matter how good those games may be. If somehow Nintendo did a complete 180, and started porting their games to PC, I would absolutely be opening my wallet for those games.

But I think that scenario would be highly unlikely. So if Nintendo doesn't change, and people start to use emulators, and making games becomes no longer profitable, then those developers would probably move on to continue developing games for another platform or studio. There would still be good games being made.
