I've been working on a series for quite some time about the history of 3D in gaming. How it became a fad and fizzled away.

Welcome one and all to BigFriendly.Guide (or BigFriendlyGuide.c om, if you’re nasty). This is the new home for Jeffrey Parkin and myself, Ryan Gilliam. For the last 10 years or so, you’ve been able to find Jeff and my bylines all over a website called Polygon. We don’t work at that website anymore, due to circumstances beyond our control — namely Vox Media selling it and laying almost all of us off in the process. While we worked for Vox, Jeff and I worked on a lot of guide projects together and discovered we had a mutual love in the world of games: helping others enjoy them. So when we found ourselves unemployed, it didn’t take us long to come together and decide it was time for us to make something of our own. And thus, BigFriendly.Guide was born.

The thesis: We’re a completely employee-owned website — me and Jeff, we’re the employees and we own the joint — dedicated not to serving Google the kinds of guides it’s looking for, but serving you, our readers, community members, and, hopefully, subscribers.

The Crew has its place but it's way too arcade-y for me. Drifting around corners while somehow picking up speed has always bothered me. Now Forza Horizon... my fucking BELOVED. Have never played a game series that was so easy to immediately jump into and get hooked by. Not to mention the soundtrack slapping like a motherfucker. No, this isn't an ad, I'm just autistic and like my vroom vroom. I also barely slept and I'm loopy and doing an adhd

Posted this a few days ago but it was a meme post. Figured a top level one might work a lil better, maybe.

So I was thinking about BG3 and how I've never really had the chance to play with other people. Was wondering if anyone else wanted to get together and play a game? Use Discord for some voice chat between the lot of us? I have no issue on mods whether we want some or not. Figured I'd grab a few people who were interested, if any are, and see if we can schedule something for all of us to play. Like a real DnD game, to an extent. Maybe come up with some house rules or something to add into it. Could be fun. What do you say?

If you're interested at all, drop a comment or send me a message.

Edit: I may be slightly slow to respond. Spring cleaning day and all that. I've been snoozing the reminder to make this post for 4 hours...

Technical explanation of why almost all Nintendo 64 games looked so blurry. Kaze Emanuar is an expert in this field and does lot of Romhacks and Mods and creates his own Super Mario 64 games with it. So he is quiet knowledgeable.

Note: I recommend watching the video at 1.4x speed, or at the very minimum at 1.25x speed.
