Hexbear likes to call themselves socialist and communist, but they come across strongly as just another group of fascists. (thelemmy.club)

They really are setting themselves up for failure long term because the more lurid and sensational their stories about us get, the more they fall apart when you observe one of us being boring and normal for 5 minutes

You'd think that, but unfortunately if making up absurdly ridiculous and insultingly stupid stories about the communists didn't work, people wouldn't fall for the nonsense about China or the DPRK, or the USSR or any socialist country. Anti-communism relies on people being trained to actively reject what their eyes and ears tell them and just believe made up stories instead, completely detached from reality, because that makes it much harder to reach them and educate them.

Yeah sometimes I consider making an alt on another instance to try to be a bit more like Cowbee and take time to educate the libs but 1) that is exhausting and I prefer spending that energy face to face, and 2) I love that just our instance tag makes people lose their shit.
