I like and completely support the idea, but i was under the impression that the only reason that they're still a bit relevant in europe is the aficionados to the boxer engine. If they only sell rebadged toyota EVs, can they survive? I'm not a CEO but it doesn't seem smart to rebadge half-assed EVs from a company that doesn't believe in EVs.

I'm interested to know from where you glean this, since "Subaru hasn't disclosed battery capacity, charging speed, or real-world range for this prototype. The company stresses that the test mule's wagon body has nothing to do with what a production vehicle will look like."

They can hardly make a functional ICE car that wont break down in the first place, so they might as well give up.

Im pretty sure half of their US sales just go to Coloradans that want an “outdoorsy person” brand SUV and dont know any better than to buy one. Theyre like the L.L. Bean of cars, if L.L. Bean somehow made clothes that fell apart within the first week of ownership

lol Subaru's absolutely do not fall apart within the first week of ownership. Year after year they're rated amongst the most reliable vehicles. I regularly take my outback wilderness offroad and it does fine, and this vehicle performs better in the winter than anything else I've ever driven- and my job has me in different rental cars for 1-3 days biweekly.
