I'll go you one further. My vote in my state does absolutely nothing because of the electoral college, gerrymandering, and disenfranchisement. So many many votes against the RNC essentially go into a void. We need to stop blaming voters since it will only further exacerbate disenfranchisement.

    Moving is extremely expensive, can result in losing your job, and also requires you to likely uproot your social life to do so. Suggesting people in red states move to the few purple ones that are basically the only states that matter in a presidential election isn't remotely a reasonable suggestion to deal with the electoral college or gerrymandering.

    Yes and no. Clearly it's hard to move, but if where you live is bad and has no chance of getting better, don't you owe it to yourself (and family if you have one) to do better? And I don't mean to go to a purple state just to make your vote count unless that also bring you a better life.
