No one is talking about whether or not you are pretty, that's a deflection from the obvious ugliness of watching someone die. The change you express a desire for here would be more clearly stated as mass death. We only control our own actions, I can only hope that those you would take in reality are kinder.

Sorry if that wasn't clear enough for you. There's no place in society for fascist, racist, sexist, bigots. You can't still be in the maga camp and not be those things. I hope every single one of them experiences the suffering they would gladly have inflicted on innocents and fuck you for advocating for tolerance. I'll be kind to the people who don't support genocidal pedophiles.

You're literally advocating to inflict suffering and telling me to fuck off for promoting not even "tolerance" but basic empathy and shared humanity. It doesn't feel particularly kind, and it's deeply frustrating to watch someone perpetuate exactly what's been inflicted on them. Suffering in no way eases suffering. Empathy does.

Then you have a good life extending empathy to people who want you fucking dead for the way you think and live your life.

If you're still giving the benefit of the doubt to conservatives, you have learned NOTHING and deserve to be taken advantage of by the worst our society has to offer.

A dark future indeed. You're very comfortable passing judgment and telling me what I deserve. Again: who does that remind you of? What behavior are you emulating? How do you think it might shape the world?

Yeah, because they're fascist, racist, sexist, bigots. Their ideas of "shared humanity" don't include me. They're evil, end of story. They don't have to be this way, they chose it and have continued to double down as things have gotten worse. It's not just "different political beliefs" or being misguided anymore and hasn't been for a long time. They are evil and they're not going to change their ways. Fuck them and again fuck you for empathizing with them. Empathize with their victims if you want to empathize with someone so bad. Being kind to Nazis doesn't make you a good person.

You don't have to be this way either. I don't see empathy as a burden or gift to be given, I see it as a source of strength. It expands your sense of self and defines emotional strength. It heals the self, other, and whole. Kindness is a reward in and of itself. I hope there is enough in your life to share.

How exactly is rolling over for fascists a source of strength? If we do not stand up to these people and put them back in their place things are going to continue to get worse. Kindness won't change anything because they are fundamentally screwed up individuals, they see it as weakness and an opportunity to take more from you. That's all it is to them. There's no appreciation, or self reflection about how they should be better people. They like the way they are and think things are going great because the people they hate are being hurt and they don't have to hide what they are anymore. You're spouting off empty platitudes because you're either a hateful fuck yourself trying to pose as a moral bystander online or you're just fucking delusional.

I'm sharing my lived experience because I care. From here it seems like you're throwing judgments and accusations at me to justify your own hatred. I know it can feel like a source or strength, especially when you've felt its impact, but I promise you it's not. You're allowing the worst of us to drag you to their level, and joining in a self-destructive game they're much better at. I see what you're doing as letting "the nazis" win. Expanding your sense of the other, responding to it with violence, acting from fear rather than love, successfully atomized and volatile and raw for exploitation. I guarantee you and the guy with a maga hat on top of his klan hood have more in common than either of you do with any politician or billionaire, very much including the impact your behaviour has. Continuing to love and be vulnerable through suffering is in no way rolling over. Amplifying that suffering, picking it up as a weapon and inflicting what has been inflicted on you on another, is far more fundamental a capitulation than helping someone in need you don't feel "deserves" it. I hope one of my platitudes reach you, and can promise my whole heart is in them. Good luck out there.

No, I'm throwing judgements and accusations at you because they are accurate statements about the results of your beliefs.

I guarantee you and the guy with a maga hat on top of his klan hood have more in common than either of you do with any politician or billionaire

I don't give a shit what we have in common. What we don't have in common is being a bigoted piece of shit and that's not a divide I'm willing to cross.

Amplifying that suffering, picking it up as a weapon and inflicting what has been inflicted on you on another, is far more fundamental a capitulation than helping someone in need you don’t feel “deserves” it.

Capitulation to what? I'm talking about reality, not whatever made up bullshit you have going on in your head that you're using to argue that magas deserve the compassion they are actively doing everything in their power to take away from everyone else.

Arrogant confidence in dismissing one another as "piece of shit" is in this context unfortunately the most relevant part of your commonality. I was speaking of capitulation to hatred itself, of course. I'm not making up hatred, or the peace that I wish you. Please be well
