Nothing is ai proof even skilled trades.

Use ai to come up with a cheap drive train that won't wear out, or a chain lubricant that increases the life span of chains and gears 10 fold. Or Bike tires that last longer.

The important point when talking about AI and jobs isn't the susceptibility of specific jobs to AI, it's that all you have to do is have a sustained period of time where the rate of job elimination exceeds the rate of job creation. That's all it takes to destroy the fundamental functioning of any economy. If that happens, people won't have any money to pay all the plumbers, mechanics, etc. who still have jobs.

When that will happen, within a decade or within a human lifetime, is a matter of open debate, but it is almost inevitable that it will happen someday.

Have you ever wonder why those initially cheap chinese product suddenly hike in price when they started to went into more high end stuff? Because they realise high end stuff requires high end production line and better material, and those aren't cheap.

Also capitalism, it's gonna cost a huge lot.
