I'm genuinely curious what reddit has to do to finally kill the site, cause apparently the remaining userbase is impervious to the concepts of standards, usability and quality of life

It really does seem like there's a mentally debilitating FOMO or "Stranded Japanese soldier on an island" situation going on with people who use reddit outside of porn

A lot of people still use Facebook. They will never leave these monopoly platforms until they are destroyed by a worker's state.

To be fair, most of those Facebook users are boomers and they have a doctor's note in the form of lifelong lead poisoning

The trust fund millennials of reddit have no excuse

If lead is an excuse then so are microplastics and long covid

I mean ironically enough, covid did kill reddit, or at least covid was the cover that allowed reddit admin to basically empty the site of anyone who wasn't a neocon, NATO-loving, destiny-esque, neoliberal ghoul

2020 killed the site, after that year the only organic subs left were a couple sports and porn subs

How much of said user base is just bots talking to themselves at this point?

Network effect. It's reached a certain size and has a momentum of its own that makes challenging it difficult because everyone else and the answers and answerers are all on reddit not on the alternatives.
