Lol, no they fucking didn't. They'd beg people to go shopping for them, meaning they were literally reliant on other people's schedules to get food. Or like my grandmother, she'd call a cab both ways, wobble herself down the stairs to wait for it, spend two hours slowly working her half blind ass through each aisle to find the shit she needed, and then still be unable to carry more than ten pounds of groceries at a time. This is a miserable ordeal.

Compare to my mother in law, in a similar position, her kids and grandchildren can just ship her food from anywhere with an app. She loves it. The drivers get tipped. We call her and she talks about what she got delivered. But sure, food delivery is "immoral" when you are sufficiently privileged I guess.
