So she's a rat, playing as a revolutionary and rolled over for putin/fsb with a bit of pressure. I bet she was a rat from the word go.

Oh and she got paid, lower than a rat.

I will die on my feet before I become a traitor.

The article details the several ways she sabotaged their information gathering attempts and how she eventually had to leave after she was told to get involved in an assassination attempt. Meanwhile, you are a TIE fighter pilot for the empire as far as I can tell.

She didn't offer herself up to "be a rat", she was threatened and detained over and over again while they tried to butter her up, acting like she was helping them was the most immediate way to stop the harassment until she eventually left on her own. She could just have as easily complied, become rich, and had no one know about her complicity.

More tankies and tankie tactics should be outed this way.

Listen you threaten me or try to blackmail me first thing I would do is out myself. Say they had pics of me in womans underwear I would call myself out. Threaten me w/ incarceration I go loudly public.

You take the power from them, grow a pair and hit it so hard head on they will shrink away. Best disinfectant is sunlight.

I die w/ my boots on.

  • Or in other words, you get immediately quashed, your existence meant nothing, and you get to reveal nothing. Quite a pipe dream to think you are "going loudly publicly" in Russia. I'll take the "rat" any day of the week over ineffective/false bravado, at least one actually ratted out what needed to be ratted out while the other just goes to Siberia indefinitely.

you threaten me or try to blackmail me first thing I would do is [blah blah blah]

This is just you daydreaming from the safety of your comfy armchair. Unless you've actually been personally harassed and threatened by agents of the state who can do pretty much whatever they want in pursuit of their goals, you can't honestly say how you'd react.

This is why when someone threatened my family, I just pushed them out the window myself. Can't give them that power over you.

Sometimes, if you go to hit something head-on, you'll just get a split skull.

Say they threatened to kill your whole family, everyone in your contacts list, everyone who owes you money, everyone you owe money, everyone you ever loved or liked. What are you going to do?

If you were part of an institution of mission-oriented people, they could help protect your family and loved ones, and the people you care about. But the price of joining that institution is that you have to put yourself in harm's way as your new way of life.

If that appeals to you, you're in luck. There are lots of institutions in the world looking for new recruits. Go get'em tiger.

Otherwise, your commitment to opposition is only as strong as your permission to let the things you love die as a result of your commitment to the cause.

I have no family, all are long gone. Even if apples don't fall far from the tree.

Yet she does have family so obviously situation is completely different than yours. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of the word empathy that you may want to check Merriam Webster

I know what I am, and I have never folded under pressure. And certainly not for money that means fuck all when I die. I can look in the mirror and not feel ashamed. Can she?
