UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both [email protected] and [email protected] .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
[email protected] appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

The Union Flag has historically always been present and waved during the proms. It's part of the pomp and circumstance of it all. To be fair so has the EU flag and many others but primarily the Union Flag because the concert is held in London, totally weird right? This was even before Brexit became a news headline.
Like so many things these days the Proms now has to be politicised. An organised group of pro EU attendees are upset that the Union Flag is being waved and an unorganised group of pro Brexitiers are just upset in general. It's laughably pathetic. Just enjoy the fucking music.
Considering the right to protest is hampered by police discretion, I don't see it in the same light. There are only a few platforms left to make yourself visible.
The melodrama is strong here. Jackbooted law enforcement officers of the state were seen belting patrons at the RAH in time to the 1812 overture for daring to speak out against the ultra right wing government. š¤£š¤£
Give it a rest mate. This is nothing but two idiotic groups squabbling and using flags as a proxy. Next we'll be reading about passport protests where they are dyed back to the old EU colour in an act of civil disobedience and defiance of the government. OĆ vey.
Tell that to Steve Bray.
