The bible could be 100% true and this wouldn't really change anything in this particular case. What it instead tells me is that people will pick out whichever parts of the bible suit their biases and follow them, all so they can feel good about themselves despite ignoring the half of it they don't like. Moses and Joshua committed genocides sanctioned by the Christian god.
