They're really leaning into the email similarities here, not a fan of moving the sidebar to the other side but I'll get over it. My biggest wish on the UI front though is for them to add a threaded view for replies like what Bluesky has, navigating long threads on Mastodon can be really taxing just trying to follow reply chains.
100% agree with you on threads. It's the biggest reason I don't use mastodon. It's completely impossible to keep track of discussions right now, so my time spent is kept to s minimum - just for my sanity.
