General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
Uk seems to hate itself, the idea that you begrudge the tv license but pay for American shot is beyond me.
BBC is opppsing trump in A spectacular British fashion
I am liking the BBC playing the large orange pant shitter at his own game and him hating it.
I hold all news outlets in the same regard, they sensationalise or ignore when it suits them and are there as Ad space more than anything for the most part. Clickbait. Clickbait. Clickbait. Traffic, Ads, REVENUE.
The cycle has kinda put me off most news sites/feeds.
Genuine question: what's "American shot" and how are we paying for it?
They meant 'American shit' e.g. not paying TV license but paying for a Netflix/Amazon Prime Video etc subscription and the like
American shit methinks
Oh right that makes more sense, here's me looking it up on Wikipedia and thinking it has to do with American cowboy films or something.
The BBC buys a lot of American shot too, funded by our so- called licence fee, which is in reality a TV tax. We get little choice in it and that is a problem with the BBC.
