IIRC, Kirk means Church in the North Germanic languages. I'm not sure how the various OE varieties spelled it. I'm not sure what they would make of that.
Eeeeh almost, most germanic languages have a very similar word but "church" is only "kirk" in some specific areas.
The actual root would be kirikā from proto-west germanic.
In modern swedish it's "kyrka", pronounced roughly /shir-ka/
So "kirk" as a verb can be interpreted as "send to God" is what I'm hearing
Yes, also see Odenkirk, which is from 'oude kerk' or old church.
I would assume that using kirk as a slang verb would mean to "send someone to church" which is where they would have their funeral.
In the additional image in OP, it's used in reference to the assassination where he got shot, and the kid is using it to mean someone got sniped in the video game.
In danish at least it is “Kirke”, so missing the -e, but nearly yes. I think it very much can be understood to have the meaning of Church. In german there’s Kirche, so again close.
